NO LEADERS, ONLY SERVANTS

There Are No Leaders, Only Servants I’ve seen through my marriage God demonstrating that servanthood is a lot closer to leadership than I thought. In fact, I would even venture to say that there are no leaders, only servants. Yes, it’s a popular belief that man is the head of the household and the wife is designed to submit to her husband. But, if I am serving my wife and am intentional with her heart, then the decisions I’m presenting to her are most likely ones that she is already desiring. It’s easy to say yes to someone who wants to serve you and has your best interest at heart. Especially if they are presenting the very desires of your heart! Vice versa, if she knows my heart and we are intentional, then when she comes to me and present something it’s easy for me to agree. She already knows I’m trying to serve her needs and she will do the same because love is selfless. I’m learning more and more that when I cater to her needs, mine are met in that act as well. Also, as I serve her and dive more into my relationship with the Lord, I find my needs are very small. When I really look at it, it feels like this verse: “And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” (James 1:4 ESV) God gives me everything I need as I seek Him.
